EVA-Medizinetui: Schutz und Mobilität für Medizingeräte neu gedacht

The 1,200 insulin cooler cases lined up along the packing bench in our Gaobu building were not one shipment. Half were labelled for Rotterdam and half for a medical distributor outside Duesseldorf, and the difference between them sat inside: the Dutch order asked for two pre-cut vial slots and a gel pack pocket, the German one wanted a flat mesh panel for a blood glucose meter with its strip canister. Both ran on the same outer shell, which is the part buyers tend to overthink.

On a cooling case the shell is mostly a crush shield. We run 0.18-0.22 g/cm3 ethylene-vinyl acetate sheet, about 5-6 mm before molding, laminated to 600D Oxford or a wipe-clean PU leather surface. The temperature work happens underneath, in a 6-8 mm closed-cell foam core wrapped in an aluminum foil laminate. Loaded with two 200 g gel packs and sitting at a 24 degC ambient, our own bench check held a 2-8 degC interior window for roughly 9-11 hours. How often the lid gets opened moves that figure more than the shell ever does.

Hardness is a decision, not a line on a spec sheet

Shore C 40-70 is the practical EVA window and nearly every medical buyer opens by asking for the top of it. That is usually the wrong instinct. A Shore C 68 shell feels solid in a showroom and then cracks along a corner seam after a winter in an unheated ambulance, because the vinyl acetate content that gives the material its flex has been traded away. Our production manager pushes first-aid and paramedic builds toward 55-62, which still takes a 1.2 m drop on six faces, three drops each, without splitting a seam, and does not slump when a stack of cases is strapped to a trolley. Harder shells also need longer compression molding cycles, and the extra 40-60 seconds per cavity lands in the unit price long before it lands in durability.

The cavity drawing is where the engineering goes

Most of the work on a medical case range happens in the foam, not the shell. We cut die-cut foam cavities to around +/-1 mm on critical dimensions, which matters when a slot has to grip a 4 mm-thick meter body without letting it rattle, and we nest several cavities on one sheet so the whole tray lifts out instead of being picked at one item at a time. Egg-crate foam on the lid side is cheaper and fine for soft goods; anything glass or sharp gets flat die-cut, because the peaks of an egg-crate profile push load onto a small area.

Paperwork that arrives before the first container

RoHS and REACH declarations come with almost every medical quote, and California Prop 65 wording appears the moment goods head for the US. We hold ISO 9001, run material checks through CTI, and SGS has audited the floor. Buyers whose own systems are written to ISO 13485 sometimes ask us to build to their documented conditions instead of pointing at a certificate of ours, and that is a conversation to have before the drawing is frozen. Zippers fail first on anything opened sixty times a shift, so we test them to about 5,000 cycles and specify YKK or an equivalent with a pull tab that can be grabbed through a glove. Insulated builds share surface and seam construction with our cases for electronic accessories.

Sampling for a straightforward structure runs about three days, and we quote in tiers at 500, 1,000 and 3,000 units. The Duesseldorf set was due back on the bench within a week with a wider meter cavity and a second gel pack pocket, while the line stayed booked for the Rotterdam run. Häufig gestellte Fragen

What MOQ does LIANPING require for a custom EVA medical case?
Minimum order starts at 500 pieces, with tier pricing at 500, 1,000 and 3,000 units. The tiers reflect tooling amortisation: a custom cavity mold typically pays for itself after about 3,000 pieces, so unit price drops noticeably at the higher tiers. Colour, logo, zipper tape and lining can change at any tier without new tooling.
How long does it take to get a custom EVA medical case sample?
A standard compression molded structure with die-cut foam is usually sampled in about three days. Builds that add a thermoformed ABS insert, an aluminum frame or an insulated foil laminate take longer, because those parts have their own lead times. Sample approval includes a cavity fit check against the actual device.
Can EVA medical cases meet RoHS and REACH for EU import?
Yes. Material declarations for RoHS and REACH are supplied as standard, and California Prop 65 wording is added for US shipments. The factory holds ISO 9001, runs material testing through CTI, and has been audited by SGS. Buyers operating under ISO 13485 can have cases built to their own documented conditions.
