하나의 EVA 셸로 4가지 용도: 드론 키트, 라이브스트림 장비, 플라이 박스, 전기자전거 수리. 공유 금형과 모듈러 디바이더가 단가를 바꾸는 방식.

Four jobs sat on one molding line last month: a drone case with prop slots and a battery pocket, a fill-light and mic kit for a livestream seller, a fly box with thirty small compartments, and an e-bike repair kit built around a chain tool. Same shell, same mold, four different interiors. That is what multifunction means in practice on a factory floor, and it is why the tooling conversation always starts with the shell.

A shared shell spreads mold cost across programs that would never justify it alone. The buyer pays once for the outer geometry, then the difference between a drone case and a fly box is a foam drawing and a lining choice. We have run as many as six interior layouts off one mold in a single year for a distributor selling into hardware, outdoor and photography channels.

## One shell, four jobs

The drone build keeps prop slots shallow and wide, separates the battery in a lined pocket, and uses anti-static foam where the buyer carries flight controllers, built to the IEC 61340-5-1 approach they specified. The livestream kit gets egg-crate foam on the lid and a die-cut base for a light panel and two mics. The fly box is the fussy one: thirty compartments at roughly 22 mm each, with foam treated so hooks do not rust in a damp boat. The e-bike kit is heaviest, so it takes a Shore C 62 shell and a webbing shoulder strap.

## Modular dividers instead of fixed walls

Fixed walls lock a case into one job. Removable EVA dividers on hook-and-loop bases let the same box carry a camera one month and a reel the next, and they cut part count for the buyer, who stocks one case instead of three. A divider set adds roughly 12-15% to interior material cost but usually removes a second SKU from the range. The trade-off is tolerance: a removable divider cannot hold +/-1 mm the way a die-cut cavity does, so it is not the right answer for anything fragile.

## What changes and what stays

Colour, surface, logo, zipper tape, handle and strap all move without touching the mold. Interior foam does not. Minimums start at 500 pieces, quoted at 500, 1,000 and 3,000, and a new cavity drawing is what pushes a project into a new tooling charge. Our [EVA case range](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/ko/products/category/eva-cases) runs from 150 mm pouches to 500 mm boxes, and the [EVA tool case line](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/ko/products/sub/eva-tool-case) carries most of the modular work. Buyers moving handheld consoles usually end up on the [game console case line](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/ko/products/sub/eva-game-console-cases), which shares the same divider logic.

Splash resistance is the other request that comes up on every one of these programs. A zipper with a storm lip plus a molded drip edge gets most boxes to around IP54 in light rain, which is an honest rating for a soft-lidded case. Claiming IP65 needs a gasket and a rigid closure, which is injection territory rather than EVA. The fly box buyer added a second colourway this month and asked whether the divider set could be sold separately, so that is now a line on the quote sheet.

## FAQ

**Can one EVA toolbox mold be used for different products?**

Yes. Shell tooling is shared across programs, and the difference between a drone case, a camera kit and a fly box is the interior foam drawing and lining. Colour, logo, zipper tape and straps also change without new tooling. Only a cavity or shell geometry change requires a new mold, so we advise fixing the layout before the colours.

**What is the MOQ for a multifunctional EVA toolbox?**

Minimum order is 500 pieces, with tier pricing at 500, 1,000 and 3,000 units. Shared tooling means a buyer can split that quantity across several interior layouts if the shell stays the same, which is how small channels test a new category without committing to a full run.

**Are modular dividers as protective as die-cut foam?**

No. Removable EVA dividers on hook-and-loop bases are flexible and reduce SKU count, but they cannot hold the +/-1 mm tolerance of a die-cut cavity. For fragile or heavy items we still recommend die-cut foam. Dividers suit soft goods, cables, reels and accessories where a few millimetres of movement is acceptable.
