The failure mode for a cable case is not breakage, it is the tangle. A case with one open compartment becomes a bag of knots within a month and the owner stops using it. The layouts that survive daily use have one thing in common: every item has a defined place, and that place is cut or sewn to the item rather than guessed at.

## Three layouts that work

Foam cavity layout. Die-cut foam at 25 to 30 kg/m³ with pockets cut 1 to 2 mm smaller than the item gives a friction fit that survives being thrown in a backpack. This is the right answer for anything with a rigid shape: a 65 W charger, a 2.5-inch SSD, a pair of earbuds in their charging case. It is the wrong answer for cables, because a coiled cable wants to spring and will push itself out of a shallow pocket. The cavities in our [earphone and earbud cases](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/ja/products/sub/eva-earphone-headphone-case) are cut this way.

Elastic loop layout. Elastic or webbing straps sewn onto a foam-backed panel hold coiled cables without crushing them, and an adjustable loop takes a 0.5 m cable as happily as a 2 m one. We sew the loops onto a die-cut EVA backing panel so the whole assembly lifts out for inspection. Ten to fourteen loops is the workable range for a 260 x 180 mm case; beyond that the panel gets crowded and cables overlap.

Mesh pocket layout. A zippered mesh pocket on the lid takes flat items: a USB-C hub, an SD card wallet, a SIM tray tool. Use a fine mesh, because a coarse weave lets a microSD card slip through. Pair it with a half-depth foam tray in the base and you get the layout most buyers end up choosing: cables on loops below, gadgets in the tray, flat bits in the lid.

## Dimensions worth getting right

Internal depth is the number people under-specify. A coiled 2 m USB-C cable sits about 35 to 40 mm tall once wrapped, so a case with 25 mm of internal depth will not close over it. We build small organizer cases at 45 to 60 mm internal depth for that reason, and we ask for the actual items before cutting foam. Outside that, 180 to 260 mm across suits a cable kit and 120 to 160 mm suits a pocket gadget case; much larger and it becomes a bag rather than a case.

Materials follow the contents. Shells are EVA at 0.18 to 0.22 g/cm³ with Shore C hardness 45 to 60, softer for a case that gets squeezed into a backpack and harder for one that lives on a workbench. Surfaces are 1680D Oxford or PU leather, and Oxford takes abrasion better. Linings are what get overlooked: nylon against a painted charger scuffs it within weeks, so gadget compartments get velvet or a soft brushed tricot.

## How we build one

Send the kit: the cables, the charger, the earbuds case, whatever has to fit. We lay the parts on a foam blank, photograph three arrangements, and cut the first insert to whichever leaves the fewest gaps. Sampling takes about three days once the layout is agreed, and most of these builds sit inside our [electronic accessory case](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/ja/products/sub/eva-case-for-electronic-accessories) line. MOQ is 500 per layout, with price steps at 1,000 and 3,000.

The one on the bench this week is a 240 x 160 x 55 mm case for a camera accessory kit: two loops for HDMI cables, a foam cavity for a battery charger, and a mesh lid pocket for four SD cards. The first insert came back 3 mm too shallow for the charger plug, so the foam is being recut on Thursday.

## FAQ

**What is the best internal layout for an EVA cable organizer case?**

Use elastic loops sewn to a foam-backed panel for coiled cables, a die-cut foam tray for rigid gadgets such as chargers and drives, and a fine zippered mesh pocket in the lid for flat items. Ten to fourteen loops works for a 260 by 180 mm case. Avoid shallow foam pockets for cables, since a coiled cable springs out of them.

**How deep should an EVA case be for coiled cables and chargers?**

Plan for 45 to 60 mm of internal depth. A coiled 2 m USB-C cable stands about 35 to 40 mm tall once wrapped, and a compact 65 W charger with its plug adds to that, so a 25 mm internal depth will not close. Measure the actual items before specifying the shell, and leave 5 mm of clearance over the tallest part.

**Can LIANPING cut the foam insert to my exact gadgets?**

Yes. Send the physical parts and we cut the insert around them, usually photographing two or three layout options before the first cut. Die-cut foam at 25 to 30 kg/m³ holds rigid items, while elastic loops handle cables. Sampling takes about three days from agreed layout, and MOQ is 500 pieces per layout.
