Quels documents une mallette médicale EVA peut accompagner : ISO 9001, RoHS, REACH, rapports CTI, données d'essais ISTA 3A et ASTM D4169, et ce que la norme ISO 13485 ne couvre pas.

Ask ten buyers what certification a medical carrying case should carry and you get ten different answers, most of them wrong. A case is not a medical device. It does not get a CE mark in its own right, and it is not registered as a device. What it can carry is a set of material, quality-system and transport-performance documents that the device manufacturer folds into their own regulatory file. Sorting out which of those matter is the actual work.

## What the factory holds

Dongguan Lianping Luggage runs its EVA case production under ISO 9001 quality management, which covers incoming material inspection, in-process checks on the molding floor and final inspection before carton packing. On the material side, shells and laminates are declared against RoHS and REACH substance limits, and CTI test reports are issued per production batch for buyers who need a document tied to a shipment. SGS factory audit reports are available for customers running their own supplier approval process. None of these make the case a certified medical product; they make the supply chain auditable, which is what a device manufacturer's purchasing and quality teams actually need to see.

## Where ISO 13485 really applies

ISO 13485 is a quality management standard for medical device manufacturers, and it applies to the organization that puts the device on the market, not to a component supplier by default. A case maker can align its documentation and change-control practice with what an ISO 13485 customer expects, and we do that under customer audit, but we do not claim to hold the certificate. If your device goes into home healthcare use, the applicable equipment standard is IEC 60601-1-11, and the case is assessed as part of that equipment in transport condition rather than separately. Sterile barrier systems are covered by ISO 11607; a reusable carrying case sits outside the barrier and is treated as transport and storage packaging.

## Transport performance and dangerous goods

This is the part that gets tested physically. Parcel shipments are validated against ISTA 3A, and heavier or palletised consignments against ISTA 2A or an ASTM D4169 distribution cycle at assurance level II or III, covering drop, compression and random vibration. Typical protocol on our bench is 1.0-1.2 m drops on six faces, three per face, plus a vibration table run with a shock logger inside the cavity. When the case carries diagnostic specimens, the shipment falls under UN3373 Category B biological substance rules and IATA Packing Instruction 650, which call for a leak-proof primary receptacle, absorbent material and a rigid outer packaging. The EVA shell functions as that rigid outer layer, and the inner requirements stay with the shipper.

Electrical safety matters when the payload is mains-powered. IEC 60601-1 governs the device, and if it contains electronics sensitive to electrostatic discharge, IEC 61340-5-1 is the standard referenced for ESD protective packaging. On request we build the insert from antistatic EVA in the 10^6 to 10^9 ohm surface resistivity band and measure it before the run starts, rather than after the first customer complaint.

In practice a buyer's document pack for a medical EVA case ends up as: ISO 9001 certificate, RoHS and REACH declarations, per-batch CTI reports, an ISTA or ASTM D4169 test report with drop heights and vibration profile stated, and dimensional and material drawings under revision control. Our [medical case range](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/fr/products/sub/eva-medical-case) is built with that pack in mind, and the [company profile page](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/fr/about) lists the audit and certification documents we can release. Send the device classification and destination market to the [engineering team](https://evacasemanufacturer.com/fr/contact) and we will tell you which of these are relevant and which are not, before anyone quotes a price.

## FAQ

**Is a carrying case CE marked or registered as a medical device?**

No. A reusable carrying case is not a medical device and does not carry a CE mark or a device registration in its own right. It is assessed as transport and storage packaging inside the device manufacturer's technical file. The case supplier supports that file with material, quality-system and transport test documents.

**Does LIANPING hold ISO 13485 certification?**

We do not claim ISO 13485. That standard applies to medical device manufacturers placing a device on the market. Our production runs under ISO 9001, and we align documentation, traceability and change control with what an ISO 13485 customer audits against, under that customer's own audit.

**Which transport standards are EVA medical cases tested to?**

Parcel shipments are validated to ISTA 3A, and heavier or palletised consignments to ISTA 2A or ASTM D4169 assurance level II or III. Testing covers 1.0 to 1.2 m drops on six faces, compression, and random vibration with a shock logger inside the cavity. Reports state the drop heights and vibration profile used.
